What's New

Sleep research doesn't stop publishing once a course goes live. Here is a plain record of what we've revised and why.

April 2026

Module 3 pharmacokinetics section revised

The caffeine half-life discussion in Module 3 now includes a clearer explanation of individual variation tied to CYP1A2 enzyme activity, along with an updated reference list reflecting recent pharmacology reviews. The core explanation of the three PM coffee example is unchanged; the supporting detail is more precise.

February 2026

New optional reading list added to Module 1

Learners who want to go deeper into the growth hormone and slow-wave sleep research covered in Module 1 can now find a short list of the primary papers referenced, organized by topic, at the end of the module.

December 2025

Module 5 rewritten with updated wearable validation data

Several newer studies comparing consumer sleep trackers against polysomnography were incorporated into Module 5. The section on how motion-based algorithms distinguish sleep stages was rewritten for clarity, and a short comparison table was added.

September 2025

Terminology review across all five modules

We reviewed every module for terms that could be misread as medical claims and adjusted phrasing where needed. This was a language clarity pass, not a change to the underlying research summaries.

June 2025

Module 4 expanded with darkness and sleep continuity research

The original version of Module 4 focused mainly on temperature. It now includes an expanded section on how ambient light during the night affects sleep continuity, drawing on studies measuring brief awakenings that participants did not consciously recall.

March 2025

Course launched

Yalili's five module course became available, covering deep sleep and muscle repair, screen light and melatonin timing, caffeine half-life, room temperature and darkness, and the limits of wearable sleep tracking.

Why we log this publicly

Transparency about revisions

A course built on published research should change as that research changes. We keep this page updated so anyone who has already gone through the modules can see what shifted, and anyone considering enrollment can see that the content isn't static.
